THREE Staff from the Legislative Assembly of Tonga’s Hansard division this week received much needed training at the Victorian Parliament on the For the Record (FTR) recording system.
The Hansard division has been using the Express Scribe system and the move to the FTR was prompted by the donation of new equipment to the Legislative Assembly after Cyclone Gita destroyed most of the recording equipment in the Old Parliament House.
The team includes Keasi Pongi, Fe’ofa’aki Ongolea and ‘Ana Tapueluelu. They have been learning in detail from their counterparts at the Victorian Parliament about the technology available for more efficient transcribing of parliamentary proceedings.
