THE Cabinet and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga has conveyed their deepest condolences to the Tongans and Maui community who were affected in deadly Maui wildfire last week which had killed almost 100 people.

In addressing Parliament on Monday, the Hon. Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku expressed the Government of Tonga’s deepest condolence to the Tongans living in Maui who have lost their loved ones and properties due to the big rapid wildfire incident last week.

“We express our deepest condolences to those affected in Hawaii. You are in our thoughts and prayers, said the Hon. PM

The Speaker of Parliament Lord Fakafanua also expressed that his heart goes out to the Tongans and Americans in Lahaina who were also affected.

The tragic incident which ignited by wildfires with rapid fire behaviour has killed 99 people including a few Tongans to date according to CNN news report this morning.
