THE Legislative Assembly of Tonga will reconvene for its current sitting next Monday, February 1st, 2016 after it was adjourned for more than three months.

The adjournment is to allow MPs to go on their Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

Parliament’s reopening is usually at the beginning of every year to allow Government to submit urgent Public Bills for consideration by the House.

Tentative agenda for February sitting includes Government Bills, Regulations and different reports of Parliamentary Standing Committees.

It is tentatively scheduled to run for about a month.

The last sitting of the House was in October last year.
