HIS Majesty King Tupou VI will officially open the 2017/2018 parliamentary session at 10:30am on Thursday.

The state opening of the Legislative Assembly is to mark the commencement of its 2017/2018 parliamentary term.

Its first business House matter is to reply to his Majesty’s opening address from the throne.

It will be followed by discussions of the national budget and expected.

The state opening program features the usual fanfare program with secondary schools march and marching parade.

Following the budget’s deliberation, MPs is tentatively scheduled to visit their constituencies from July 10-21.

Thursday’s occasion will be attended by MPs themselves, Members of the Royal Family, Foreign diplomats, Chief Justices, church leaders, district and town officers are among the distinguished guests.
