TONGA and Papua New Guinea (PNG) are not development partners yet Port Moresby commits to provide assistance for Tonga in its preparation to host the 2019 Pacific Games.

THE Legislative Assembly of Tonga will reconvene for its current sitting next Monday, February 1st, 2016 after it was adjourned for more than three months.

“Capacity development should NOT be a one-time occurrence. Rather, it should be an ongoing exercise spread throughout the term as Members need to familiarize themselves with practices and procedures but when it comes to issues that are regularly raised in the House- such as budget oversight and the scrutiny of bills- then members need to be constantly updated”
