THE Speaker of the Legislative Assembly yesterday praised the friendly parliamentary relations between Tonga and China’s National People’s Congress since the establishment of the two countries diplomatic ties in 1998.
Hon. Samiu Vaipulu recently attended the 18th General Assembly of the Asian Parliamentarians’ Conference on Environment and Development, on behalf of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga. The conference took place in Seoul in South Korea from the 10-12 of November and was attended by about 57 Members of Parliaments from 15 parliaments in Asia and the Pacific region.
