The ‘Eua 11 constituency office is taking significant steps towards fostering a healthier and cleaner environment for Tonga. This morning, staff distributed heavy-duty plastic bags to six primary and 2 secondary schools for the collection of recycled water bottles, which will be shipped to Coca-Cola Amatil Tonga in Tongatapu.

Sponsored by the Sustainable Resources Management group, this initiative aims to contribute to a more sustainable planet. It’s part of several projects led by Hon. Taniela Fusimalohi, MP for ‘Eua 11, where funds raised from recycling will directly support the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) in their daily activities, including the maintenance of school grounds.

Additionally, Hon. Fusimalohi will hold a fono meeting at the Sapa’ata community hall tonight. Simultaneously, Tongatapu 4 MP, Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu, will engage with residents at Tonga Hou’eiki Hall in Fangaloto.

Parliamentary constituency visits are ongoing across Tongatapu and the outer islands. Tonight, Tongatapu 5 MP, Hon. ‘Aisake Eke, will conduct his inaugural constituency visit at Fahefa community hall at 7:00 PM. Residents are encouraged to attend and voice their concerns regarding community issues, making this a vital opportunity for collective action.

In previous visits, constituents have raised important matters related to water supply, health services, road maintenance, and street lighting.

Yesterday, Tongatapu 2 MP Dr. ‘Uhilamoelangi Fasi met with the principal and senior teachers of Tonga Tonga High School to discuss pressing issues, including the form-five examinations and concerns about teacher duty allowances.

Tongatapu 10 MP, Hon. Kapelieli Lanumata, have met with villagers of Nukuleka, Niutoua, Afa and Navutoka, where residents have highlighted the need for public transport solutions to address traffic congestion and for the establishment of refugee centers to provide shelter during cyclones and natural disasters.

Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu will also meet with residents of Touliki at 8:00 PM tonight, while Hon. Taniela Fusimalohi will engage with the Mata’aho community at 7:00 PM. MPs in Vava’u and Ha’apai are also conducting meetings with their respective electorates, and the visitation program for the Niuas is forthcoming.
