A soft closing ceremony will be held tomorrow to mark the official closing of the parliamentary session 2022 by three Nobles of the Realm. 

They are His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, Lord Tu’iha’ateiho and Lord Ma’afu. 

The Royal Address will be delivered by Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala on behalf of his Majesty King Tupou VI. 

Primary School students will line the Taufa’ahau road enroute to Parliament from the Royal Palace to mark the occasion.  

Meanwhile, the state opening of Parliament is scheduled for June 1st.  That is for the House to convene and discuss the proposed national budget for 2023/24 from Cabinet. 

The budget estimate is required to pass by Parliament before 1 July 2023.
