The Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku this morning told local media in a press conference the number of positive cases recorded has increased from 139 to 208.

However, 7 patients have fully recovered and have been discharged and 6 have returned negative tests out of the 208. Minister of Justice and Prisons Hon. Samiu Vaipulu also confirmed 30 have tested positive at the Hu’atolitoli prison which includes both inmates and prison staff.

It was also confirmed by the Minister of Health that 25 at the MIQ facility have tested positive. All of the 351 specimens sent from Vava’u have all returned negative results.
