The Whole House Committee has successfully passed the Draft Estimates of seven government ministries, including the crucial vote for the Legislative Assembly's Office, following an extensive debate spanning over a week on the Budget Statement.
To meet the deadline of passing the Government Estimates 2024/25 by the 30th of June, a special Parliament meeting was convened on Friday. This session allowed legislators to thoroughly discuss the Government’s Budget, ensuring comprehensive scrutiny and deliberation.The Whole House Committee approved the Draft Estimates of the following ministries:
- Palace Office
- Legislative Assembly Office
- Auditor General’s Office
- Ombudsman Office
- Anti-Corruption Commissioner’s Office
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- His Majesty’s Armed Forces Tonga Defense
- Prime Minister’s Office
