ANOTHER nomination for the Premiership role was submitted to the Office of the Legislative Assembly today. Tongatapu 10 constituency MP, Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa put in the PTOA’s submission to the Clerk of the House, Gloria Pole’o at about 9:30am this morning.

This follows a submission to Parliament yesterday of a nomination for Prime Minister from the independent candidates.

Both nominations are in sealed envelopes kept inside a securet box that was transferred and kept at Treasury’s strong room yesterday.

This morning police personnel again escorted the Clerk, Gloria Pole’o and Deputy Clerk, Dr. Sione Vikilani as they transfer the nomination box back to the Parliament’s Office this morning.

When nomination for PM closes at 4:30pm today, it will be taken back to be safeguarded at Treasury until the 26 newly elected MPs meet to elect the PM.

A Press Release will be released later today on the date and time to elect the new Prime Minister.
