A moment of silence was observed in Parliament this morning, Monday June 13th, to honour the life service of the late Hon. Vili Manuopangai Faka’osiula Hingano, who died in New Zealand on June 10th, 2022.
The Hon. Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku announced the untimely passing of the Hon. Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry in parliament this morning. He said the body of the late Minister is expected to arrive in Tonga this Thursday, June 16th.
After the announcement, the Speaker of the House, Lord Fakafanua, called on the Members to observe a minute of silence in honour of the late Minister and People’s Representative for Ha’apai Constituency 12.
The late Hon. Vili Manuopangai Hingano was appointed as Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry on December 28th, 2021, before he travelled to New Zealand for medical treatment.
The Hon. Prime Minister, Hu'akavameiliku and Speaker of the House, Lord Fakafanua conveyed condolences to the families of the late Hon. Vili Manuopangai Faka’osiula Hingano.
